Hello Everybody!
This week our homework is going to be due on Thursday, January 28. As of late, I have had a large number of people not turning in their homework at the end of every week. If you are unable to complete your homework for the due date, please let me know ahead of time so that I can make other arrangements for you.
Spelling Tasks: We can recognize and spell words with ck, ct, ft, ld, mp and nd patterns.
- Read your spelling word list and make sure you understand the meaning of each word.
- Write each word on your spelling list using the waterfall method.
Example: s
sw
swi
swif
swift - Choose 10 of your spelling words, and write a sentence for each word. Put a circle around the spelling word in the sentence. Try to challenge yourself and see if you can use two words in one sentence.
Reading Tasks: We can read silently with increasing confidence and accuracy.
- 10 minutes of reading is expected to be completed every night.
Math Tasks: We can sort regular and irregular polygons.
- Complete a shape scavenger hunt around your house. Find 10 different 2D shapes around your house and draw them into your homework notebook. Once you have found all 10 of your shapes you need to sort them however you want. You can use vertices, you can use sides, or whatever else you like.
- As a challenge, you can try and sort the shapes you found in task #2 in more than one way.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and have a wonderful week!! Do not forget that it is a short week and that Thursday is a surprise casual day!
