Homework for the Week of October 11 - 16th - due on October 16th, 2020

Happy Sunday Everybody! 

This week our homework is going to be due on Friday, October 16th. Your students will get their homework folder and book back when we return to class on Tuesday. If they want to work on their homework ahead of time, please just glue or staple the pages with their work into their homework notebook. 

Friday, October 16th will also be the day of our fourth spelling test. The words can be found below:



Spelling Tasks:

  1. Read your spelling word list and make sure you understand the meaning of each word.

  2. Write out each of your words using the symbol code below:


    As an example, the word cat would be written as follows:

    cat - 




  3. Choose 8 of your spelling words, and write a sentence for each word. Put a circle around the spelling word in the sentence. Try to challenge yourself and see if you can use two words in one sentence. 
Reading Task:

10 minutes of reading is expected to be completed every night. 

Math Tasks: 

  1. Please identify the place value for each digit in the following numbers. You can use the example to help you. 


    Example: 1234 - 1 is in the thousands place,
                                  2 is in the hundreds place
                                  3 is in the tens place
                                 4 is in the ones place. 

    Please complete the question for the following numbers:

  2. Use the following chart to help you draw the following numbers using base ten blocks. 


    For example, the number 1234 can be shown as follows:

  3. I will be updating the assigned Mathletics activities for the students, so they can continue to work on this throughout the week. I highly encourage them to log in to Mathletics and attempt some of the activities, to practice and reinforce some of the concepts that we have learned in class.
