Hello, Room 8 Team!
We had an awesome week here in Room 8. We were busy bees this week to go along with the warm Spring weather we are seeing outside. Below is our learning update for the week.
Language Arts - This week in Language Arts we worked on planning our next story masterpiece. We focused on creating detailed characters, settings, problems and solutions for our stories.
Math - This week in Math, we continued to look at fractions. We learned how to identify a fraction, how to draw a fraction, and how to compare fractions with the same denominator.
Science - This week in Science we continued with our Building and Testing Materials unit. Our building challenges this week included: building the tallest most stable tower we could make out of 100 cups, designing a model for a sliding barn door, and creating a stool out of recycled material that a student could sit on. We will wrap up this unit next week with one final building challenge.
Social Studies - This week we continued working on our major Social Studies Cultural Research Project. We will continue to work on the project for the next few weeks.
Health - In health class, we continued looking at the area of relationships. This week we looked at stressful situations and things we can say to ourselves to make us less stressed.
