Homework for the Week of April 11 - 16, 2021 - due on Friday, April 16, 2021

Hello!

This week our homework will be due on Friday, April 16! Remember, if you finish it before then, feel free to hand it in early.

Spelling Tasks: We can recognize and spell words with -ed and -ing endings.

Friday, April 16 will be the day of our next spelling test. The words can be found below.

  1. Read your spelling word list and make sure you understand the meaning of each word.

  2. Complete 2 of the following activities. You get to choose which ones you complete.

  3. Use all 12 of your spelling words, and write a sentence for each word. Put a circle around the spelling word in the sentence. Try to challenge yourself and see if you can use two words in one sentence.
Reading Tasks: We can read silently with increasing confidence and accuracy.
  1. 20 minutes of reading is expected to be completed every night.

  2. I would like you to review the book you are reading. Do you recommend it? Was it a good book? What is your favourite or least favourite part? Remember to use full sentences and you can add more details than what I have asked about here. Please do not write more than 1 page for your review.
Math Tasks: We can demonstrate our understanding of fraction parts and we are able to identify different fractions.
  1. Solve the fraction puzzle code. You will need to use the symbol key to help you fill in the blanks and discover the secret message.

  2. Write the fraction for the following pictures into your notebook. Circle the numerator of the fraction, and put a square around the denominator of the fraction. You should have 9 fractions altogether.

Science Task: We can research structures and share our findings.

  1. Watch one or two of the videos on the playlist at this link. The videos are about Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. If you would like, you can watch more than 1 or 2 videos, but be warned that all of the videos are about 40 minutes in length altogether. I would then like you to complete a 3-2-1 response. 3 things that you learned, 2 things that you found interesting and 1 question that you still have. 3 Things I Learned:
