Hello, Room 8 Team!
We had an awesome week here in Room 8. Below is our learning update for the week.
Language Arts - This week in Language Arts we finalized our story planning and began writing our story. We are focusing on creating detailed characters and settings.
Math - This week in Math, we finished up our unit on fractions. We ended the week by looking at some estimation strategies.
Science - This week in Science we wrapped up our Building and Testing Materials Unit. Our final building task was to build a house that would protect the Three Little Pigs from being blown over by the Big Bad Wolf (a regular house fan).
Social Studies - This week we continued working on our major Social Studies Cultural Research Project. We are going to wrap up this project in 2 weeks and begin presenting them to the class.
Health - In health class, we continued looking at the area of relationships. This week we looked at ways that we can build positive relationships with others. We also learned that it is important to build bridges to connect ourselves to others and not build up walls to separate us from others.
This weekend is a long weekend with a Professional Development day on Monday. Please do not come to school on Monday. I will see everyone's bright, happy faces on Tuesday! Stay safe and wash your hands this weekend.
