Hello!
This week our homework will be due on Friday, April 30.
Spelling Tasks: We can recognize and spell words with y, al, able and ible suffixes.
- Read your spelling word list and make sure you understand the meaning of each word.
- Complete 2 of the following activities. I would like you to try and choose 2 that you have not completed before.
- Use all 12 of your spelling words, and write a sentence for each word. Put a circle around the spelling word in the sentence. Try to challenge yourself and see if you can use two words in one sentence.
Reading Tasks: We can read silently with increasing confidence and accuracy. We can identify different story elements in books that we are reading and write about them.
- 20 minutes of reading is expected to be completed every night.
- I would like you to write about the beginning, middle and end of a story you are reading. If you do not know the ending yet, I would like you to guess what happens.
Remember, the beginning should talk about the characters and setting. The problems should be introduced in the middle of the story. The ending should discuss the solution to the problem.
This writing should be at least 5 sentences in length.
Math Tasks: We can write about fractions that we see and compare those fractions.
- Look at the group of dogs below and write fractions about them. I would like you to write a paragraph, similar to our pizza project, with 5 sentences that have information and fractions about the group. I would like you to try and include at least 3 fractions in your writing. Below are my two example sentences.
There are 9 dogs in this group of dogs. of the dogs have grey on their fur.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and have a wonderful week!
Miss. Shevchuk
