Ukrainian Dancing Body Break

 Hello Room 8!

I wanted to post the video I made for this week so you have another option to choose from for our online physical education activities. In the video, I teach a few basic Ukrainian dancing steps and then I put them all together in a mini dance at the end of the video. I challenge you to try and create your own dance with the steps throughout the week in-between or after our online meetings.

Social Studies Activity Pages and Math Word Problem for Wednesday, January 6, 2021

Math Word Problems:

Avery and Malank were incredibly lucky to watch a firework show on New Year’s Eve. They saw 687 firework explosions in the sky with amazing colours, but they didn’t like yellow ones as much. There were 373 yellow fireworks that night. If they take away all the yellow fireworks they saw, how many were left over? Use pictures, numbers and words to show your thinking. Show 2 or more ways to solve the problem.

Mr. McVea noticed that 135 of the yellow fireworks also had orange mixed in, so they all decided to add them back into the leftovers. How many fireworks did they enjoy watching in all?

Social Studies Activity Pages and Math Word Problem for Tuesday, January 5, 2021

Math Word Problems

Ellie and Adam played Among Us for 324 hours in December. In January they played 513 hours of the games because they loved it so much. How many hours of video games did they play combined? Use pictures, numbers and words to show your thinking. Show 2 or more ways to solve the problem. Woops! Miss. Shevchuk mentioned they forgot to save their game on some of the days and learned that 115 hours did not count towards the total. What is the new number of total hours played? Show your thinking with pictures, numbers and words.

Online Learning Schedule for the Week

Good Morning Everybody! Welcome to 2021!

As some of you may have remembered, today is a PD day, so there will be no classes. Online classes will begin tomorrow. Here is the schedule for the week:

I ask that students remember to keep their microphones muted during the lessons, unless I direct them to do otherwise. It is also important to keep the chat box clear, again, unless I direct otherwise.

Every afternoon I will be posting the schedule and requirements for the following day's learning. Please be sure to check the blog every evening so you are prepared for the following day.

I can hardly wait to see all of you tomorrow morning. If you have any questions, please email me.

Thank you!
